NylAb® is a high
performance fabric made of an especially strong
Nylon fiber. This fiber has been designed to
perform at the highest levels of resistance to
abrasion, puncture, ripping, tearing and
pilling. Products made of NylAb® materials are easy to
care for and are long-lasting. Workman uses its NylAb® materials on various
lines of Jackets, Pants and Luggage.
Workman
uses many different forms of NylAb® material. The difference
in the materials is best described by its
Denier, or weight of the weave. The heavier the
weave, the higher the Denier and vice versa.
Workman utilizes a range of Denier for different
applications in its product lines. |

PolyFill® |
With our PolyFill® insulation you get
the benefit of warmth without being bulky the
fiber coating that gives it a soft luxurious
feeling combined with satin as the outerwear
this Polyfill becomes a strong insulation for
every day wear. |
 |
PolyMesh® |
Workman’s PolyMesh® is a abrasion
resistant, durable and extremely breathable
polyester mesh material. We currently use it on
a variety of pant and jacket designs. These PolyMesh® products are
extremely popular with summer riders looking for
comfortive protection. The mesh is by nature
extremely breathable due to small gaps between
the special weave, it is like having a millions
of tiny vents. |
 |
CarboLeth® |
CarboLeth® is
high performance leather mixed with unique
characteristics of Kevlar type material. The
unique process also gives rise to some other
very important properties not
normally
associated with such leathers. It is abrasion
resistance to about at least 200% more than the
best hide leather, it is not only 98% waterproof
but you need not to incorporate expensive
membranes. The finish has a micro porous
structure and as a result is breathable. It is
easy to clean, using only water, or for heavier
stains a little washing up liquid.
The
thickness of the finish is maintained at less
than 0.15mm, therefore the product is classed as
a true leather. Softness and handle are
maintained, since no cements or solvents are
used. There are no delamination problems with
the finish.

 |
| LiquGuard® |
| LiquGuard® is an exclusive
product of Workman LiquGuard® is a waterproof and breathable membrane that
allows perspiration to escape, while preventing
water from penetrating. It is light weight,
durable and comfortable. |
 |
|
 |
This highly advanced membrane
utilizes a polyurethane
coating.LiquGuard® can be
combined with leather, NylAb®,
or any other material to provide a waterproof
& breathable interior. The way LiquGuard® works is quite
simple. The pores are 650 times larger than
water vapor, so evaporated water can easily
escape. On the other hand, the pores are 15,000
times smaller than a small drop of water, so
rain and snow can not possibly
penetrate. |

| CE
Armors |
All Workman
Suits, Jackets & Trousers come with standard
with CE Certified Protective armor on
request.
Workman’s CE certified
armor is designed. |
To prevent abrasions and
lacerations in the areas covered by the
protection.
To prevent or reduce the severity
of bruising, bone fracture, muscle damage and
various other physical injuries that can occur
during accidents.
To help prevent dirt and
grime from entering open wounds |
 |
| Warning |
Armor does not
prevent injuries from happening. Workman's armor
gives you the best chance at decreasing the
severity of an injury sustained in an accident.
Workman’s armor should be used with the
appropriate motorcycling apparel and fitted so
that it is snug in the correct position. If you
are fitted incorrectly, the armor may move upon
impact and no longer protect effectively. It is
important to realize that armor’s effectiveness
is reduced when it is wet. Be sure to thoroughly
dry your armor if it is exposed to water.
Extreme heat may temporarily reduce the
effectiveness of your Workman
protectors. |
 |
| ReflectoLite® |
Workman’s ReflectoLite® technology is use for
enhanced visibility at night or during low
visibility conditions. ReflectoLite® is composed of
millions of tiny "Reflective" lenses bonded to a
variety of fabric backings. These lenses will
reflect light straight back to the lighting
source, providing reflective warnings to the
light source. Reflective material is an
industrial fabric composed of wide angle,
exposed reflective lenses bonded to make a
durable 100% polyester cloth backing.
While
the use of reflective material enhances
visibility, no reflective material can guarantee
absolute visibility, particularly in adverse
weather conditions. Performance will vary
depending upon actual use, exposure condition
and maintenance. |

COOLMAX®
|
COOLMAX® fabrics
are made of specially engineered fibres that
transport perspiration away from the body to the
surface of the garment, where it can evaporate
quickly. So the body is kept cool and dry even
during strenuous activity. Simultaneously, the
uniquely shaped four-channel fibres provide
excellent breathability, even when wet. This
quality of air permeability further enhances the
thermo-regulatory effect of COOLMAX® fabrics to improve the
wearer's energy, endurance and
performance.
COOLMAX® is a
registered trademark of INVISTA for certified
moisture management performance fabrics,
containing proprietary fibres made only by
INVISTA or other companion fibres. COOLMAX® fabrics are

| How your body uses and
loses heat |
Scientists have found that the
human body sitting at rest consumes 4.7
kilocalories/hour/square foot of body surface
area and transfers this energy into heat.
When thinking about heat loss, it is
important to remember that heat loss is affected
by:
• body temperature
• outside air
temperature and wind speed
• distances
between the insulation fibers
• thickness of
insulation
• fiber size. |
 |
| Clo
Defined |
The clo unit is defined as the
amount of clothing required by a resting subject
to be comfortable at a room temperature of 70°F
(21°C). Clo-value is analogous to R-value for
rating house insulation. For example, 1 R-value
= 1.137 clo-value. |
 |
| Normal Clo
Values |
Nude person clo = 0.0
Typical
business suit clo = 1.0 |
 |
| Clo Vaues are
Additive |
Summing the clo values of
individual components will approximate the total
system clo. |
 |
| Determining Effective
Clo |
Total clo is estimated by adding
the clo values of the components and correcting
for surface area, fit, and air layer effects.
This procedure was developed by the American
Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air
conditioning Engineers. |
 |
| Effect of Activity
Level |
The insulation required by an
individual to maintain comfort is markedly
affected by activity level. This factor must be
considered when choosing a garment for a
particular activity. |
 |
| Staying
Warm |
Thermal comfort is achieved by
balancing three factors: |
Thermolite rate of heat production by your body |
• insulation value of your
clothing (clo)
• environmental temperature |
 |
Of those three, it's easiest to
alter the insulation value of your clothing. To
do this we need to understand how, exactly,
insulations work.
Insulations work in two
ways: first, by trapping air. The more air
trapped, the more efficient the insulation.
Second, by reflecting back the body’s radiant
heat.
The unique microfibers of Thinsulate™
Insulation are about ten times smaller than the
fibers of most other synthetic insulations,
which means they’re much more efficient at
trapping air. . . and more effective at keeping
you warm. It also means we can pack more fibers
into the same space, where they can reflect back
more of the body’s radiant heat. |
 |
|
|
The fibers of Thinsulate™
Insulation are fine, making them ideal for
trapping insulating air and reflecting back the
body's radiant heat. |
The fibers in 6-denier
polyester are much thicker and not nearly as
efficient at trapping air or reflecting back
body
heat. |
 |
Neither repeated machine washings
nor dry-cleanings markedly affect the
performance of Thinsulate insulation. Tests have
shown, in fact, that Thinsulate insulation’s
average “clo” (a measure of the ability of an
insulation to keep you warm) remains relatively
unchanged even after repeated
cleanings.
Thinsulate insulation is the
smartest choice if staying warm is important to
you. When you compare equal thicknesses, the
original "warmth without bulk" Thinsulate
insulation offers almost one-and-one-half times
the warmth of down, and twice the warmth of
other high-loft insulation materials. |

Hipora
HIPORA®
 |
 |
HIPORA® has
solved the biggest problem inherent in the
conventional waterproof film. HIPORA® has the secret in the
unique polyurethane coating technology. That is
numerous number of micro pores are placed all
over the polyurethane coated film. They shut out
the water from outside, but allow the moisture
or warm steam from the body goes out. When the
body perspires from strenuous work on exercise
the perspiration can easily escape leaving the
wears feeling
comfortable. |

| A History of the Power of
Performance |
The year is 1965. Two research
scientists working in a corporate lab create a
remarkable fiber. The technology they developed
was one that enhanced strength, light weight and
flexibility.
It offered numerous other benefits—ones that
could be offered in a variety of forms. The
scientists were Stephanie Kwolek and Herbert
Blades. The company was DuPont. And the
technology was KEVLAR® .
And, because of the superior protection it
provides, KEVLAR® brand fiber
quickly became the technology of choice for
bullet-resistant vests. In fact, police officers
have relied on the KEVLAR® brand for more than 25 years because of the
superior bullet-stopping power it offers. That
power and protection comes packed at an
extremely light weight, which provides both
comfort and freedom of movement to those that
wear KEVLAR®.
